Has anyone heard of a 200ICP losing its sysid? I've got a CXI that I wanted to move from 200ICP to MCD 4.0. I've got a hard drive installed and the software loads fine. on the amc I am able to remove the hardware Id from the arid for the 200icp and then apply it to the MCD 4.0 ARID. But when I went to license, the hardware id on the platform itself was not being detected.

I've reseated the ibutton, but still no luck. Any ideas?

The sysid is reserved for the 200 varient not the MCD. Although the system may appear to run, ultimately the sysid is going to generate an alarm and system failure.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

So the SX-200 is not actually losing it's sys ID

The actual problem is that MCD software does not detect a SX-200 System ID.

This does not surprise me.

Thanks for the responses. I had another tech who did successfully get MCD installed on the 200ICP variant of the CXI. When it comes down to it, the 200ICP CXI and the 3300 ICP CXI are the same box, including the ibutton for the sysid.

And when I reformatted and reinstalled the 200 ICP Rel. 5.0 software, no sysid discovered. So the sysid / hardware id is no longer detected by the system.

Curious as to how MCD loaded with any options without a valid SYSID registered at AMC with appropriate options enabled.

"The only problem with common sense is that it's not that common

One thing that I do differently that may or may not make a difference. I never program the SysID on the AMC manually. (on 3300's)

I always let the SW Installer tool or Synchronization do that for me. The AMC will automatically detect both the SysID and the SW version. I've never had any issues with this method.
