200ICP 3 party conf on AMB

New install 200 ICP 5.0 Attendant answers incoming call (TRK 1 on AMB) transfers to outside number (TRK 2 on AMB) 3 way conference OK. When Attendant releases trk 1 and trk 2 conference but the howl on the connection makes it impossibloe to talk. I have run the diagnostics with results YELLOW and ERL in the range -8.5 to -9.5. I'm thinking that this is a telco issue but not sure.

Anuone have a clue?

The ERL is not that great, but the important point to note here is that there are no echo cancellers in the path within the system. Echo cancellers are only put in for TDM to IP connections, this is a straight TDM connection and the ERL could account for the howling. I doubt the telco would give you much help since a single line into the system is fine, it's only when they are back to back and coupled with the internal echo hybrid of the system that it becomes a problem. If you are going to talk to them about it, I would suggest that you just concentrate on the normal call case.
 
One other thing, you may want to make sure that your CO sends the proper release signal, otherwise you can end up with a hefty phone bill.
 
You are coreect on all points. The telco says they won't even test the ERL. They are only concerned with the ability to make and answer calls on the lines. My solution is "old-school". I connected an old call diverter to an analog extension and routed the dial zero calls to the extension. The diverter is connected to a pots line, I have answer and release supervision and the qulality is very good.
