We've now had 4 GPO's in our environment that have a corput registry.pol. The settings report gives the following:

The file "\\PAADC1967.amer.zurich.corp\sysvol\amer.zurich.corp\Policies\{XXXX}\Machine\registry.pol" is not in a valid format. The file might be corrupt. Use Group Policy Object Editor to reconfigure the settings in this extension.

The only common denominator between these are that they been recently opened in edit mode on a 2008 or Windows 7 box using the latest GPMC.

Have any of you seen anything like this?

If you modify a GPO with a newer version of the Group Policy Management GUI, then you need to continue using that. The older GUIs will not know the newer entries.
