hi everyone,

We have a lightly-used server that has (at least) 1 edition of SQL Server 2005 installed on this Windows 2003 server.

The build info is: SP1 9.0.2221. When I tried to install SP2, the features list does not even have the Database Services option selected. In fact I cannot check/uncheck any feature - the list is static/frozen.

Running osql -L finds only 1 instance on this server.

I don't know all the history about this server but something is definitely unusual. Management Studio and the othe Client Tools are not installed on the server but I CAN register this server from Management Studio on my desktop PC.

Any ideas?
Thanks, John

oops. This server has Windows 2003 64 bit as the OS.

So I may be using the wrong SP2 install file.

I'll try installing the correct SP2 file and post back later.
Thanks, john
