Hi,
I just did an installation, and I want to get a reality check.
Q1.) I downloaded SQL Server 2005 (x86) from the developer website as ISO files. There were 2 files: CD 1 and CD 2.
I mounted the ISO files so I could read the contents. I ran setup.exe from CD 1.
The installation only required setup.exe from CD 1. CD 2 was tools only, so I didn't need to install anyting from CD 2.
This differs from my experience of installing from DISKS, where you DO need both CD's. Can anyone confirm why the ISO files only required CD 1?
Q2.) Also, under the "Advanced" menu I wasn't sure where to change the default installation for the System databases. Can someone please clarify. As it was, I chose to install everything under c:\program files\sql server\mssql.1\mssql\data\... but in the past I have changed this, but I don't remember HOW I did this.
Thanks
