2005 Express Maintenance

Came across this for emulating maintenance plans on 2005 Express:
It looks like I can do pretty much anything I want. Just wondering what other approaches other might be using to automate maintenance of Express servers.

(I have some commercial apps that use Express and I am not free to migrate the DBs to a full SQL server.)

Without knowing exactly what those apps are doing, can't say for sure. They are probably better than not doing anything. You'll need to use Task Scheduled to run them as the SQL Express doesn't have a scheduler any more.

Yeah, they mentioned the task scheduler. I haven't looked at the SQL code, but it looks like he created a SMO to replicate the same tasks that are available in the Maintenance plan wizard.
