All,
Is access 2003 compatible with access 2002?

My specific question if I have a access 2002 database, can I open an access 2003 database?

If not, how can I save an access 2003 database in a format that a access 2002 can open?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Access 2003 will allow you to work in and save the database in the 2002 format.

Access 2002 will not be able to read 2003 format.

There is a doubt.. you have Access Version 2002 and database Access2003 right?

Open Access2003 file with Access Version 2003 then downgrade it to 2002 format.. Then only you can open it with Access Version2002

Also...
"Tools" -> "Options" -> "Advanced" tab
Set your default file format.

This will save some pain later on if some one creates a database in the wrong format. Lesson learned -- Not all databases convert easily back to the older format type.

Thank you all for the wonderful responses. This is a relief:)
