I have a 2003 server that holds many FSMO roles aka PDC emulator that is is getting event ID 4....

Kerberos ...this is due to identically named machine accounts in the target realm, and the client realm.

We did narrow it down to a linux machine that was added to the network that was acidentically named the same as the server.

So my question is...is there a way to correct this without taking the server off the domain and deleting the account and rejoining it to the domain?

we cannot find the duplicate name that was added to the system. Everything is being traced back to a kerberos error. This server can no longer replicate with other servers on the network. It has lost DNS, DHCP capability. Any thoughts on how to recover? We were thinking of loading a spare server up and transfering the FSMO rolls to it. Will we be able to do this? any advise would be welcome...
