i am having trouble installing 2003 server after running fdisk. can anyone help?

after running fdisk and cleaning the hard drive I try to start pc with win 2003 server cd in cd drive it won't start to install. it says something like can't run from dos

Are you booting off the CD, or booting off the floppy disk?
Don't worry about using fdisk before installing. You will be prompted to create the system partation during the install.

FDISK cannot interfere with the hard disk in any way that would prevent any new windows operating system from booting up from the CD. Windows 2000 and above will most of the time even remove linux partitions...
