hi everyone,

A couple of question about 2003 Enterprise:

1. Is 32 GB the max RAM that the OS will use?

2. Does Intel Quad Core / Dual processor = 8 processors when licensing software using Processor-based licensing? is it 8 or 4?

Thanks, John

1. The Enterprise Edition supports 64 Gigs of RAM.

2. Processors are counted based on sockets, not cores.

Not according to the URL I posted.

The 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise Edition and Datacenter Edition, supports new systems with up to 64 GB of RAM.

When you look at the page it shows Windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise, and Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise both supporting 64 Gigs of RAM.

You're right. Takes up to 64GB, my last one physically had 32GB as I didn't have the budget for 64GB.

However, 32 stuck in my head.

I need to service pack my brain...

Happens to the best of us.
