does anyone know a way around the trust limitation with 2003SBS to 2003 server?

Research tells me that 2003 SBS R2 is not able to do trusts with other domains. Is this true?

Is this true
Yes.

Hope This Helps, PH.

There is a way around it. It's expensive. You'll need to purchase the SBS Transition Pack which removes the limitations. Otherwise, there is no legal way to do this...

The transition pack is not really a way around the SBS requirements. After applying the transition pack, you are morphing the server out of it being an SBS box. Even though the wizards and such might still work for a while, none of the SBS specific components are supported by Microsoft anymore at that point. Your server is considered to be a Windows 2003 Std Server.

So is there ANY way that users from another domain can access files on that SBS box?

I haven't found one yet.

thanks.

If you require that functionality, then you either need to rethink your network and consolidate your domains, or purchase the transition pack to upgrade your SBS to full 2003 Std.
