Running Server 2003, pdc

This morning when I logged into the server (as administrator on the domain), the roaming profile was reset (only default icons and etc.)

When I try to open group policy management I get "Access is denied"

Event viewer is no help.

Made sure administrator had permissions and was the owner of c:\windows\sysvol

Any ideas?

try logging on to a PC, then install the GPMC. Run it from there to see if it still works. I feel it is a problem with your actual server. Or your profile is corrupted.

I fixed it late last night.

Everything still worked from the BDC.

It ended up being a corrupt roaming profile.

I removed the profile, rebooted, problem solved.

Thank you for the post :)
