Currently I run a Windows 2000 SP 4 SBS with Exchange 2003. For about the past 6 months the server has became problomatic and is not able to keep up with the growth of users. So today the new server came in that i ordered and i loaded Windows Server 2003 and Exchange 2003 and got it up and running with a differnet name ( all users use OWA, and no MAPI Clients).

So my question is what is the best way to move all the current users mailboxes along with their current usernames and passwords from the old server over to the new one? The users do not use public folders or anything eles that would have to go.

When trying to use the exchange Mailbox move under exchange tasks, the destination server information is not a changeable option for me.

When trying to install the 2003 server into the existing domain i get an error stating the server is unable to lookup my domain via DNS. But i have many workstations that can join the domain without a problem.

That is the Windows domain...

The server needs its DNS settings checked, resolve that first.
Then remove Exchange completely from the new server.
Then join the existing Windows domain.
Then install Exchange again and choose to install it to an existing organisation.
Then follow the KB article above.

DO NOT MOVE THE FMSO roles off SBS or it will shut itself down.

Everything is working like a charm now. Thank you all for your help.
