We've just upgraded from an NT4.0 domain to Server 2003 (as part of SBS 2003). We did this over the weekend and started using it properly on Monday.
Just seven workstations and the server. Five workstations are fine but yesterday when I was trying to access a file on the server I was told the domain was no longer available.
I tried logging back on, no luck. I logged on again as another user and the computer was fine. I then logged in as myself and everything's been ok since then.
Another PC is constant being told the domain in not available and every day takes more attempts to log on. I gave up after an hour today. One point with this pc. The username is JEANNIE and computer name JEANNIE01. Previously we have had it spelt with one N and another with the I missing. I feel it may be easier to reformat.
All the PCs are running Windows 98 (stop laughing), but I can't get the powers that be to upgrade.
To me it would seem some sort of time out issue - but we're using 100Mbit cards. The server has a 1000MBit one.
We never experienced any problems like this on the NT4.
Has anyone got any ideas or experienced any similar problems?
Thanks,
Rob
