Hi all
Is there any way we can stop 2003 defulting to read only, this is cause so much trouble with file transfer.

Thanks for any help

I am going to bet that it is a problem with the source and not the destination. Are you reading from a CD/DVD-ROM or from a network share that you only have READ rights to?

No even if we create a new folder on 2003 the default is read only and we cant change it.

I do want to transfer our shared docs over but this cause mainy headaces.

thanks for any help

The grayed out checked read-only box is by design. If you are having issues writing files to a drive, you should start by looking at NTFS and share permissions. The read-only box is ignored by just about everything.

make sure the shared forlder permission are everyone full control
