I just installed the above system last night. This morning, the customer is telling me there is echo, and I have confirmed. On all IP phones, I hear myself back clear as day. How do I get rid of this? They have 4 analog trunks. The single line phones seem to work fine.

First/easiest thing to try is to change the trunk descriptor from National Complex to 600 Ohm.

When you say echo, is it delayed?

What some people call echo is actually sidetone without the noice associated with TDM systems. You're actually noticing the absence of noise.

Right now the trunks are set to auto under impedence. The echo is my own voice coming back to me within milliseconds. so basically hearing myself talk right after I speak. I will change them to 600ohm?

Changed loop to short, and imp to 600ohm...no more echo. Thank you!

yeah, Auto is useless unless you run the trunk test utility

The trunk test utility is hit and miss and usally more bother than it's worth.

600 ohm works 90% of the time for me.
