Hi, our current domain config is with 1 Ntserver Pdc and 4 Nt server BDc's. Question I have is that I need to introduce 2000 server into this existing NT server domain without any problems. Concerns I have are:
a)If I install AD making the 2000 server a DC will it demote our existing NT 4 server PDC?
b)Will it try to replicate the NT Server database and start authenticating users etc?
c)Will an app that pointed to the NT PDC now look to the newly introduced windows 2000 server for the information it needs?

I have many more concerns as well but basicly does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do to accomplish placing 2000 Server into an Existing NT server environment as a DC without screwing up our existing NT 4 server domain? What else do I need to be concerned about with this?

Thanx

When you plan to migrate to Win2K, I'd suggest upgrading your NT4 PDC first.
(Take a BDC offline when the upgrade fails, so you can promote it to PDC...) Peter Van Eeckhoutte
