I have been working at a company for some time doing general IT support etc but have recently started to take more control. I have been looking at the licensing we currently have as no seemed to keep any records, which involves me looking through lots of old dusty invoices!
I have a question about 2000 SBS licensing. When we bought the software, you get 5 CALs. I have also found an invoice for 5 x SBS 5 Add-on CAL Packs. That gives a total of 30 CALs which I have found invoices for. Are thiese licences per user or per machine connected to the server?
Also, I thought I read that SBS 2000 won't allow more users than CALs are installed. Is this correct? Also, how can I check who many CALs are installed? It may be a case that I can not find an invoice for additional licenese which have been purchased.
