We have a 2000ivs2 that has noise, static and crackling while you are talking on any port from Pimm 2.We have cha nged out all FP cards and the cp15 in Pimm 2 and to no avail, can anyone give any other advice, thanks.

See if it's a PIM/Power Supply problem. Place PIM-2 as PIM-0 to see if the problem follows the PIM.

Remember: The Power cable (Ribon color cable) also needs to be swapped. Cable-E goes in PIM-0 and Cable-D is used for PIM-1 and up.

We replaced the power supply also and still did not fix problem.

Hi, this might be a problem related to the electrical supply. Check the voltages on the power outlet and make sure that it is not fluctuating or dirty, check/change the batteries if any and also check the earth on the switch. Make sure that it is functional as well as there isn't any foreign/floating voltages on it.

Changed out Pimm and still no fix, thanks.

have you disconnected the lt cables and have you tried changing the bus cable?

This may sound extreme but, if the PIM, PSU and FP, AND if a new BUS cable don't fix it, the only thing I can think of is trying another CPU card.

We have done everything but change the bus cable, we are trying to load data in another cp14 but are having trouble with the upload, keeps coming up check sum error.

I had a PIM once that would go to sleep. we tried EVERYTHING! except disconnecting the LT cables from the backplane and let it run. Once we did this (the very last thing after replacing everything but entire switch) we found out that we had a bad tail. NEC was able to replicate the problem in the lab as well.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, we are going to try a new cp14 and keep our fingers crossed, if this fixes our problem I will post it.

CP14 was the culprit,up and running like a gem. Thanks for all of the advice.
