Been away from SQL Server for about 18 months doing oracle work so havent had much experience of the DTS equivolent in 2005.

Just been told I have a new contract starting on monday to do a 2005 "DTS" job.

Could anyone give me some pointers as to how different the new DTS is and views on how easy it is to pick up.

I have about 4 years intensive experience of 2000 DTS.

Any comments good or bad gratefully received.

TIA

Thanks for the post - interesting FAQ but it doesnt really answer the initial question of how easy 2005 SSIS is to pick up if you are experinced in 2000 DTS.

Is there any user out there who have gone through this transition ?

TIA

SSIS is similar in concert to DTS, but after that it's fairly different. It will take you some time to get up to speed. Check out the SSIS forum forum1555.
