2000 Domain Controller in VMWS6.5?

Weird problem, haven't done much experimenting or searching just yet, but while I'm here... Why is it that this new install of Server 2000 on VM Workstation 6.5 won't let me set it up as the primary domain controller for test purposes? It will allow me to configure it's server role as a secondary but not as a primary?

Please can you explain a bit more what you mean? There are no Primary or Secondary Domain Controller roles in Windows 2000 and above, each DC is a DC in it's own right and although one DC may hold the FSMO roles, the concept of PDC and BDC does not apply.

Is your server a DC? Or is it a Member Server in an AD or Workgroup server? What error messages are you getting?
