2000 database corrupts ?

Front end with tables in back end. Ported from 97.MultiUser on NT4 and then on a Novell 6 server. Same symptoms on both. Fails every few days. Use an external compactor (from MS knowledge base) and it's OK with no data loss. Usual message is "Record Deleted" when a user starts up. Existing users appear to be able to carry on using it.

Anyone any ideas?
