Are there programs running at start up like 98 shows in msconfig? I look in task manager and it shows nothing after start up.

Look in the registry at the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Marc Creviere

Search the web for WinXP msconfig, works just like Win98 msconfig
