i have a windows 2000 active directory domain.
we just got a new server that had 2003 allready on it.
can i add this as a domain controller to the 2000 active directory or will it mess up the whole thing ?

You can add it as a member server without worry. If you want to promote it to a domain controller you would need to run forest and domain prep to upgrade the AD domain to 2003.
