My firm recently moved to A2007. One of the databases is receiving "the inconsistant state" message and needing a repair almost daily. This app was very stable in 2003.
What other configuration settings can I try that might help stabilize things.

Thank you for the info. I don't believe service pack is installed, how can I find out.

This morning I discovered a strange issue. One user receives the message "The database caused a serious error last time it was opened..." but others were able to login to the DB with no issue. Then I had her logout of that machine and login to a different machine and she was able to go in with no issue. The db has been compacted and repaired (yesterday). Any ideas on whats happening?
Could it be a bad network card or something like that on the troubled workstation.

Hopefully the db is splitted in FE/BE with each user having their local copy of the FE, don't it ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

IMHO a multiuser db should always be split !

Thanks for the advise. I just noticed this...I have two PC's, 1 pc loads the database fine, but the other receives the message "The database caused a serious error the lst time it was opened...would you like to continue opening it??? Why would this happen? Do you have any ideas...

Thanks

I rebooted both PC's and still have the reference to one machine in the LDB file....Isn't that wierd.
