I have a linksys wireless router(wrt56g) and a Microsoft MN-700 wireless router.

What I'd like to do is connect them wirelessly(like an uplink with out a wire) so that they both have internet access.

Is this possible? The MS router can run as an access point(if that can help).

I;m friging clueless with wireless but I'm very technical.

thanks inadvance

I assume in trying to do this you want to create two wireless zones/areas that both can access the internet via the same connection.

You may be able to get this to work.

What you need to do check if the devices support bridging, this will connect thw two devices together at a MAC address level. quite a few vendors support this type of configuration.

I have to say that Ive had little success doing this with dissimilar hardware in the past, its much easier to configure with two devices from the same vendor.

I agree with dieselfreak above completely, but I have been playing with WDS using the WRT54G and alternative firmware. I do buy the notion that the 802.11x standard should support WDS, I am disappointed in the actual performance of one-radio solutions, and look forward to two-radio products soon.

But having made all the reservations above, the Sveasoft firmware for the WRt54G will likely work.
