Hello,

Can two available adapters be used to get on both VIOS servers redundant storage access (multipathed)?

Or I need another set of two FC cards for one VIO?

btw. NPIV feature will not be used.

kind regards,
r.

Ideally, each VIOS should have two paths going down two independent fabrics, so 4 FC adapters minimum.

HTH,

As p5wizard stated two FC adapters would be the best option but if you are running redundant VIO Servers with one FC card in each and each FC card is pointing a separate SAN fabric than your clients will have redundant paths to their disks. If one VIO Server goes down your clients will still have access to their disk.

Of course your question was can two FC adapters give your VIO Servers redundant storage access and the answer to that is no.

Just a thought.
