Hi

I have two tables. The main data table is where info is entered. In the other table is the employee table. It contains employee number and name. I want to enter the employee number on to the form which relates to the main table. On the form then I want the employee name to be displayed. Any advice greatly received.

Kind Regards

Neil.

Access provides a form/subform wizard that will do all that for you. You will find it easier if you declare a relationship between the tables.

Hi

I have declared a relationship. I did not really want to go down the subform route. Can you customise the subform just to display the employee's name with no other detail just like a field on the main form.

Just create a query which joins in the required field and make that the basis of your form. If you have a problem making the query updatable - come back to this forum and we'll tell you the rules.
