First off a little background on our system. We have 2 buildings, eachs with a Merlin Legend R7.0 connected by a full point-to-point T1. Building 2 houses the voicemail system, Intuity Audix R5. I am very new to this phone system, so treat me like an idiot.

Question 1: We have an extension, 2422, that should only be a voicemail extension. The voicemail box is setup properly (can log in). When you dial the extension from inside, you get an alarm like the extension doesn't exist. It is in the NON-Local UDP for the building without the VM, and not in NON-Local UDP in the building with VM. We get the same result dialing from both buildings. When calling the DID linked to this extension, the number just rings and doesn't go to either the operator or the voicemail box. Any ideas?

Question 2: This one should be much easier. We have a phone that works properly, except that when a voicemail arrives the status indicator light doesn't light up. How can I make it light up?

Thanks for any help in advance.

does the extension exist in the location with VM? if you have it in the UDP for the remote site then you should have it in the main location.

if you dial it at the location with vm, and you get a wave off or non exist tone back then renumber an adjunct if it's to be a phantom extension or renumber an extension to that exension number then put it in the coverage path for vm.

The extension is in the extension directory in the same building with the VM system. This extension should be a phantom, just not sure how to set that up.

if its a phantom MFM or adjunct and there is no coverage you will get a busy signal when you call it locally, if it does not exist you will get a wave off tone.

I have the adjunct setup now so that I get a busy, which you say means there is no coverage group. When I print a group coverage report, the adjunct 2422 is listed in the same group as all the rest of the extensions. Is there anything else I can look at or might be missing?

*UPDATE*

I have solved the message waiting indicator, Audix was pointing to the wrong switch. Adjunct 2422 works internally now, going to voicemail, but is not being picked up with the DID. Where would I look to check those settings?
