1) Just for example, is better/worse than ?

I know the second one is probably worse from a professionalizm standpoint, and looks spamish, BUT, seems to me that it is easier to read?

2) Please comment on the following as a method of getting external links.

Say I have a site about a new widget that my business sells for fixing "x" in your home. I write an article (broad, and without much detail on the topic) and post it to an article site like (seems pretty popular with the search engines) In this article, I have linkage to my site with the full details of the topic.

Thanks for any comments you can provide

better or worse for what ?

articles can be a good way of building reputation on a subject but don't expect any great value or magical success from the links.

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?
Woo Hoo! the cobblers kids get new shoes.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

better/worse for search engines, or would they be neutral?

like say your keywords are "help with foo" would the se pick that up better/easier than helpwithfoo, as it wouldnt know to split that one string?

...or does that even matter at all?

Grwman,

You mentioned Have you actually used this service? Do you have any comments on it?

I considered submitting some articles which would indirectly promote my site, but I decided I might as well put the effort into writing more articles for the site itself -- on the basis that the more content you've got, the more chance you'll encourange links and the more reasons people will have to visit. But I might be wrong about that.

Mike

Thanks Chris,

for my own purposes, i've decided that domain name format does not matter at all. (although I still feel that the dashed ones look spammish, and reek of someone trying to optimize the site solely for adsense or something like that)

I also considered my own browsing habbits. I tend to look less favorably on domains with dashes. That sealed my desicion.

Mike - In regards to your question about the e-zine site - after surfing some more, it appears to be over-run with vague articles promoting websites. (as I thought about in my original post) Your philosophy on creating quality new content for your site instead makes WAY more sense, especially in todays SE world, where content seems to be king.

What do you guys think about this:

Write quality new content for your site.

Write a summary article for ezine sites (for the benefit of their good SERP spots and for backlinks)

My only hesitancy on this, I guess, would be the possibility of the..."duplicate content"?? penalty (not sure if i've use the right temrinology)

Thanks for the input
