Greetings,
I have two Windows 2003 Servers that are DC’s for our domain. I just installed the second server, for redundancy and am configuring it now. I presently have the new server setup as a secondary DNS server and am thinking about activating Integrated Zones on DNS. I have AD setup on both servers and they seem to be replicating properly. When I go to the properties on the zone, I have setup for the secondary DNS server, and click on “Change”, the box that says “Store the zone in Active Directory…” is grayed out, but the box in the first DC can be changed. Is there a reason for this? Do I have to change the Primary DNS server first? All the documentation, I have read, implies that it doesn’t matter whether I change a primary, or secondary DNS server.
My second question is how will Integrated Zones affect resolution capabilities if I add a Linux server down the road?
Thank you, in advance.
