hi all - good Monday morning to yall...

here is my (first)problem of the day...
i have a report that lists every case a particular Dr has done in a designated timespan, and now want to total the number of hours so i can come up with an average... the problem is that you can do more than 1 procedure during a given case - at which point it is listing the total room time twice - once for each procedure.

i use Crystal 8.5 and i have the "select distinct records" checked; but since they are both listed under the same case number it still pulls the total room time twice... How do i get it to "ignore" the second listing?

(i guess the suppress if duplicated always worked before because any totals i was doing was a distinct count of something... now that i need a total i see how suppressing does not work)

thanks again for all yall's help - this website has become priceless to me!

1. Make sure you have a Group level for Case_ID

2. Create a Running Total and set the Evaluate option
to for each Case_ID.

This would ensure the total room gets evaluated only once for each Case.

thanks! that worked great! i also set it to reset after each date grouping so that in addition to counting room time per case only, it would also give me the total per day and then start over... [smile]
