Thanks in advance. I am sure I am missing something here but it has me baffled. Unable to change settings in Vista Boot Manager, such a seconds to boot & I must press enter key to continue, this has only one operating system. Second problem is Windows log in box is already completly filled in with asterisks & when I remove them they return, after back spacing several times I am permited to enter the password and proceed.

I have ran all the usual adware, spyware, virus programs & nothing shows a problem & everything else works properly.
This is not a great problem but a bother none the less and I woulld like to remedy the matter,

thanks

What was your solution, somebody passing this way might be glad of your advice?

You are correct linney, I will tell how I fixed these problems. First problem was solved by changing boot order in bios settings to boot from hard drive first. When these settings were corrected, Vista Boot Manager was then bypassed at startup.

Second problem was solved by removing the password, shutting down the system, re-entering the password & all was well. For the life of me I do not see the reason for this password problem. Crazy!!!
