2 problems with EX2K3 .... help ...

Hello everyone. I'm having a problem with Receiving external email and OWA.

I've setup the Exchange server and am able to send/receive email internally, send to external but no receive external email.

Also, OWA works internally fine - but cannot get it to go from external. What do I need to do to get the outside to get to it?

I have a SonicWall Firewall 3060.

sounds like your firewall..

as long as you have port 25 open on there, and if you're using PAT, make sure it's pointing at you mail servers IP. Of course make sure you got proper acl's setup (if sonic has that stuff, never used em)

As for OWA, again on the firewall, that'll be port 80 of course!

I'm assuming you know that stuff, but if not, post a part your configuration from your firwall here AND DON"T POST YOUR PUBLIC IP!!! JUST X IT OUT!

i experienced problems with OWA opening with errors on the page, which rendered most of the functions unusable. this is a bug that microsoft is aware of and has released a fix for it. installing SP1 fixes the problem. download it here: [

] don't know if that was the problem you were alluding to.

as for not receiving external emails, check the MX records to make sure they are pointing to your server's IP address. and you should be using a secure port (i.e. 443) rather than 80 which is wide open.
