HI, I started looking over this system only a little while ago but I have been told by AT&T that two of my PRI's are sharing 1 D Channel. SO they are sending the calls on 47 channels. I think that my Definity is only looking for calls on 46 channels though.

Can I add the 24th channel from the first PRI in a trunk group? When I try it says "port reserved for D channel"

HELP!

If using NFAS signalling, the DS1 form for the non-D channel DS1 must be set to ISDN-EXT instead of ISDN-PRI.

non-facility-associated-signalling. i.e. - a PRI circuit receiving signalling from a D channel on another circuit.

Ok, so I would leave the first PRI that has the 24th channel set up for D channel and change the 2nd PRI to "isdn-ext"? Then add the last channel to my trunk group.

Just want to make sure. Anything else I should check?

yes, that is it but the system will probably make you remove the last 23 members from the trunk group and possibly the signalling group in order to make the change.

Thanks alot! This forum is turning me into a hero here at work. SSHHHHHHHH!

Another quick question.

When setting up DS1's I see a field that says "Near-end CSU Type:"

Mine is prigrammed as "other". I see that intergrated is also an option...which should I set it to?

I do NOT have any traditional CSU that I can see. SHould it be intrgrated?

I believe integrated is only used for ICSU that plugs onto the backplane. If you do not have one of these, you should probably not set it to integrated.

Look on the back of the cabinet where the ds1 cable plugs in. The integrated CSU is small and white the size of a pack of cigarrettes. 120a2, 120a3, 120a4. If you have one, select integrated. If not, select "other".

Sorry to keep bumping this just REALLY need to get a stright answer...
But do I need to check "other" or " intregated" on the secnerio described above?
