Rack Solutions has some great, simple brackets used to support installation of full length rackmount servers in telco relay racks. The only problem is they seem rather expensive for what they are.

Are you aware of any alternate sources for the same type of product or perhaps an alternate mounting solution?

I see what you're doing. You've got a big Dell server-- or something like that --that needs to fit into a relay rack. Only the server is designed to fit into a four post cabinet. Hmmm.

I would try looking at Chatsworth Products. Now if you want to go crazy, you can convert the ENTIRE relay rack into an enclosure. Check out and see what I mean. Over the top!

I know for a fact that you could find a center-mount shelf that's deep enough to accomodate the gear. There's also some support brackets at which will accomodate 60 pound gear that's as much as 2 feet deep. Check out their mini catalog by drilling down from I won't go on about this manufacturer, lest I get grief for "advertising" (which I'm not, thanks).

One last thought is that for the price of the converters that you pointed out, you could actually buy a whole other relay rack! Is there any law that says you couldn't bolt them on the floor in parallel? Yeah, a "poor man's" four post relay rack.

Powerware makes some cheap brackets to mount UPSes and i use them for servers all the time. It is a Mid-Mount. so the server sticks out the front and the back at the same time. I will try and dig up a part number. they are pretty heavy duty and simple to install.
