Hello,

I have 2 phones extensions, 256 & 257, and would like both to ring, but when there is no answer on 257 I want it to go to 256's VMB.

I read in the manual you can use CFAC (Call Forward All Calls). The phones I have set up don't have a button for this. Is there a way to program a feature code for this?

I tried feature 4 on 257 set to forward to 256, when I call 257 it rings at 256, but when it get's to the VMB it goes to the general VMB and not 256 VMB.

Is there a way for me to forward calls from one extension to another extension? We don't have enough VMB for both phones to have a MB.

Thanks.

INternally If you call 256 do you get VM for 256? After how many rings?

Yes... when you call 256 it goes to 256 VM. I forgot to mention that. It's a good piece of troubleshooting though, because if 256 doesn't get VM then there isn't any way that 257 can get VM.

I think the number of rings is 4, but I'd have to check to make sure to see what the number of rings are.

Are you thinking that 257's VM is picking up sooner? Like on 3 rings so even though it is forwarded to 256, 257's VM is picking up first?

It depends on the VM you have. If you have a NAM or Call Pilot (I can't remember if the latest Flash s/w had it), add 257 as an Alternate Extension when you build the mailbox for 256. 257 cannot have its own mailbox. This way when you call either DN and CFNA is set for each set to go to VM, the calls all go to VM aftr the specified number of rings, but go to the same mailbox. And both sets get the 'Message for you' indicator.
No call forward from set to set is needed.

Excellent! I'll give that a try. Sometimes, it's hard to find what you want to do because the word that you are thinking of isn't labeled the same way in the system you are working in.

Much appreciated for the time spent with me on this thread!

I looked around for alternate Extension in the manual that I have, and it doesn't list it there. I'm assuming I don't have the correct software. I don't know if I have a NAM or Call Pilot.

I could not find the redirect DN feature either.

Any more suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks.

In your first post you stated that you are out of mailboxes, so you don’t have a NAM. My suggestion at this point would be for you to call a professional. If you have a call pilot they could add more mailboxes for you, thereby eliminating the problem.

Thanks for the advice Bkrike. That helps clear some things up for me.
