Hey what software/hardware *would prefer software* would i need to allow me to see and use the linux system with the moniter conencted to the Windows system ?

there is no software i have heard of to do that, you just need a simple monitor switch, you can pick one up at radio shack.

A KVM switch will allow you to use the same keyboard, video display and mouse for both systems.

I have a similar situation at home. I run tightvnc server on the linux box. Use the tightvnc viewer on the Windows desktop. Works nicely, and it's free.

I'd go with flugh's advice. It's what I do from work to access my linux box and from here to access my work windows computer! :)

It can be a bit slow when the network is slow but if your computers are both on the same network (say on a home network) it's almost not noticed.

Sounds good but from what i see there is only a Win and RedHat supported versions and i need it for Debain and Mandrake lol

Mandrake has a tightvnc package (it's the one I'm running now). 'urpmi tightvnc' is all it takes (plus your CDs or some other installation method).
