Hello,

I manage a small office of 20 workstations. The management now wants to rent some offices from the building across the street. It would be about 100 yards away. My questions is how can I keep both offices on the same network? I want them to all share the same file server, E2K server, and firewall. I am leaning towards wireless as our current building does not have fiber run to it. I am thinking an outdoor wireless bridge on one building and an outdoor wireless access point on the other. Please share your opinions so I can make the best choice.

I did a similar networking job on a smaller scale with two WAP54G's. The client had his cable internet in one building, and wanted to have it in his funeral home offices. So we set two WAP54's in repeater mode, and that was about 150 feet with no problems, and both of those were set up inside.

There are several ways you could do it. If you want them to be on the same, "physical" network, your options include Wireless or line of site solutions. Depending on what's between you and the other building, fiber might be an option.

If the other location is going to have it's own internet connection, you could do VPN.
