Hi all,

At the moment we have a 2node exchange 2003 cluster. I want to add an additional exchange server but it will be a standalone server, not a node in the cluster. It will be a server in the same exchange organisation though. Is this going to be okay to just add normally and sort out the routing etc?

Many thanks,

Anyone?

Basically, can a established exchange cluster coexist and be migrated to a new standalone server introduced over time?

Thanks

It shouldn't be a problem.
As far as the other XC server is concerned it doesn't matter if there is a cluster or not.

Just install XC and it will put itself into the org. As you say you'll then have to sort out routing groups and connectors if it is on a different site.

Migration is slightly different.
See KB822931 for the bible on that.

Basically describes how to move everything exchange related to a new server and remove the original XC server that was installed into the organisation.
