2 NICs - on Freebsd7 1 to Internet, 1 to LAN

I'm new to this group, but have a grand scheme to put 2 NICs into a freebsd 7 box, one to take internet traffic from selected users, and the other NIC to access the company's LAN for serving out various data to the selected validated (PHP5/MySQL) users.

Similar to thread93-966923(closed) I believe.

I know I can do this, but my confusion comes from the configuring the 2 NICs. I just don't understand the details. Any help!!! would be appreciated.
