Hi. NT 4.0 Sp6a. My ISP has changed configurations, and now I must use dhcp to obtain an IP address. I want to run a proxy sharing program on the NT box, with 2 NIC's, one a dhcp client, and the other a static ip address.

The ip address tab won't let me make the either nic a dhcp client, the choice is greyed out.

Any ideas, and is this possible at all?

TIA

Kevin

Is this a server? If so, what are the chances that DHCP Server service is installed. If that service is installed the DHCP client choice becomes unavailable - you cannot be both a server and a client. If this box is also your DHCP server, you will need to move that service to another box.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks Voyager1. The problem was that dhcp server services were installed, once removed everything was fine.

thanks again.
