Does anyone know if there is a way to utilize two network cards with separate IP's on one machine? If so, will this increase my download/throughput on that one machine?

i.e NIC1 - 1GB
NIC2 - 1GB

Total throughput apx 2GB

Yes you can, it is called NIC teaming. I doubt that it will increase your throughput however... It's possible the bottleneck is at the NIC, but pretty unlikely unless you're running a huge datacenter.

The NIC teaming software I have used made both ports the same IP address.

NIC teaming can be used to good advantage for reliability, but is rarely an advantage for throughput.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
