2 NIC cards, oicking one

The easiest solution would be to set both NICs to a static IP; then DHCP isn't an issue.
However, you may wish to google NIC Binding Order.

I agree with Greg there, in that it would be more prudent to use a static IP on both NICs,,,
less hassle in the end...
