2 Network Cards

Hello,

I have a Dell Poweredge 2600 with 2 Network cards, can i connect both to to the same switch for speed or if not, what are the possible issues?

You really won't get any benefit out of this. DNS will only return one IP for the server and the two NICS need to have unique IPs so one will go relatively unused for incoming traffic.

You could use NIC teaming for redundancy.

If speed is an issue you could upgrade to a gigabit nic and switches in the network, but that can get costly.

I recently purchased GB NICs from CDW.com and they only cost $39.00. A LinkSys 24 port GB managed switch cost me under $400.
