very easy, you just need a different video card, doesnt even hav eto be the same model, for example if you have an AGP card you wana use on your primary monitor, then hook up the other monitor to the PCI card, make sure in the bios it inits AGP first, so that you get your default output to that card, then once you start win98, it'll detect and install the second vid and monitor, and yuo'll have a multimonitor setting thing under dislpay on control pannel.
Karl
kb244@bellsouth.net
<a href=
Some cards don't work well together. You can find a list of compatible adapters at Microsoft's web site. Search for "multiple monitors" and you'll get all the information you need.
but at the most times they do work ok right? (unless of course i've heard battles bettween using a V3 as a secondary monitor card didnt look into it, but kinda the reason why i never got a V3 PCI to use as a optional 3dfx card)
Karl
kb244@bellsouth.net
<a href=
I was using two identical Diamond Stealth cards in one of my home machines with only minor display problems. I pulled one of the cards to use in a different machine and replaced it with a Stealth 3D Voodoo and the horizontal scroll interference became unbearable. On the other hand, I had a decent AGP coupled with a crap PCI card in a machine at work and the display on both monitors was outstanding.
I guess you'll never know for sure until you try.
