hi can you please advise me? i've got an old desktop computer(5 yrs old) and i want to connect another monitor to it. i'm not so sure what specs of new video card that i should buy that's compatible with my pc. the presently installed is 'display adapter nvidia geforce2 integrated gpu'. i'm thinking of attaching an lcd together with my old crt screen.

thanks for any advice.

You have an integrated Graphics card. But You probably have an AGP slot that can take an additional Graphics card you'll need to open up your computer to see what kind of expansion slots you have available. AGP or PCI.

Based on that you can look for compatible Graphics cards with 2 Video outs.

You'll probably need a DVI to VGA adapter, as most cards don't have dual VGA outs but instead have 1 VGA and 1 DVI out port.

I'm assuming your LCD is not a DVI. if it is then you can just plug it directly no need for an adapter.

hi vacunita thanks for replying.

i've opened my pc and found black slot which has a label AGP (and saw also a PCI1 white slot, which made me confused. i don't know what kind of card i should buy).

again many thnx for your help.

Go for the AGP type card. you'll have more options for cards than PCI.

Also, the AGP cards always have better features than the normal PCI ones.
