2 fonts in 2 languages in a paragraph... possible?

If a paragraph consists of both English and Chinese words and I want to change these words into their according fonts (ex: Chinese with a particular Chinese font; English with English font) , what is the best way to do that in a one-step process?

It was able to do so in Illusrator older version, but seems not possible to do it in CS2 now!

You can't, you have to set up a charactor style then apply the english para atyle to the para, then highlight the chinese words and apply your charactor style

This is exactly what I am doing now... but it is killing me since it has 250+ pages. Just wondering if there is any alternative way to do something like this?

If they are recurring words then you could do a search and replace.

Or in hindsight, in the word file put a code like <a> in front of any Chinese words then search for <a> etc.

According to the Indesign function of "Place", I can actually finish this feature before I edit it in Indesign. I have done a test which works really well. First, I use the orginal words file to selcect them all in 1 English font, then select them all again and pick a chinese font. All words now Chinese with Chinese font; and English with English font. Save it. and place into Indesign file. Bang! it works prefectly!

In my japanese version indesign 2.0 J
there is a function exactly for this purpose. I don`t
the exact english synonmys for the japanese words
but with some guessing u will figure it out.

Just create a "combined font" (font drop down menu)
and u can exactly chose the fonts u want to use for
japanese words and a seperate font for all your
western words.
Then u will be able to select this new created combined font from the font menu just like any other usual font.

Works perfectly, but u have to create seperate fonts
for bold and italic. Anybody has tips for this problem?
