Hi,
I have a single Exchange 2000 server (SP3) running fine with OWA, etc.... call this SERVER1

I wish to migrate to another server, so I built a 2nd Exchange 2K server with SP3.. call this SERVER2

Both servers being part of the same domain...

I have created a mailbox on SERVER2, Outlook MAPI works fine. However when I attempt to use OWA on SERVER2, I am redirected to server1.... hmmmmmm.. confused now....

I want to make sure SERVER2 works fine with OWA first... Then I shall move all the mailboxes over from SERVER1 to SERVER2 and uninstall Exchange on SERVER1, retaining SERVER2 as the new Exchange server....

Is it possible to have two Exchange 2000 servers on the same domain and have OWA running properly on each server, or is it normal to have OWA redirected (as is happening to me)?
An example: I go to If I enter the credentials for the mailbox on SERVER2 I get 'page cannot be displayed'. If I enter the credentials for an account on SERVER1, I am redirected......

Confused?... I am......

IIS on both servers. IIS works fine as a web server. Exchange works fine on both servers.

If I attempt to use OWA on SERVER2 and use credentials for an account on SERVER, I am redirected to SERVER1.....

If I use credentials for an account on SERVER2, I get 'Page Not Displayed'........

I've removed and readded Exchange2K twice, and tried at base level & with Exchange SP3...

It seems to be an issue with two servers in one domain... I suspect if I decommission SERVER1, I'll get SERVER2 running OK with OWA... but not convinced....

I think this is a licensing issue, but I can't find my reference on it.

Any chance that you've installed URLScan or IISLockdown?

Licence logging service is running, as I am aware of some odd IIS issues when the licence logging service is disabled...

URLScan / IISLockdown not installed on either server....

IIS is most definetly the problem. All I can think of is to build two test servers and perform some experiments....
Would be nice to find some documentation on this issue - I cant find anything in Technet or on the web regarding two exchange servers in the same organisation and OWA only working on the first server......

A cheque for £20 to the first person with a resolution.....
