My company has recently bought another domain name, they are wanting to add email address to our current exchange setup for this new domain. We are currently running the address convention firstname.lastname@comapny.co.uk and my company wants to add firstname.lastname@company.eu.com so they are running side by side on the same exchange boxes and being delivered to the same mailboxes.

We are running Exchange 5.5 and the site that the mailboxes with both addresses will be on will be the same site as the IMC
Is this possible?

This is entirely possible.

You need to add MX records for your new domain, just like your existing domain's MX records. Also add the new domain to the IMS's Routing, like the existing domain.

Then each mailbox needs an additional SMTP proxy address. You can't add these via site addressing, though, you need to either add them manually :-(, or do a bulk directory import (have a look at if you haven't done one of these before).

If you want more specific help or guidance, feel free to post back more specific questons when you've read the link.

You don't need add new e-mail addresses. Simply reroute company.eu.com to company.co.uk. That way mail comes in to either domain, gets changed to @company.co.uk as necessary and then delivered to the appropriate mailbox.

Go to the IMC properties, click the routing tab and add the reroute entry there along with your <inbound> entry.

That's true, but it removes the flexibility of being able then to have either domain as the primary (sending) address for any of the mailboxes, should this be a requirement.
